Java Jazz Festival 2010: John Legend has Confirmed

Do you recognize the gentleman on the picture? Yes, it’s John Legend, and you will have the chance to see him live, right in front of you, soon at AXIS Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2010! We just got this wonderful news this evening, stating that John Legend has agreed and ready to participate at Java Jazz Festival 2010. It’s officially confirmed.

John Stephens, the real name of John Legend is one of the top superstar today in the international music scene. He has achieved many things in his professional career which was just started in 2001. Six Grammy Awards, special Starlight award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame are some of them. His song “Ordinary People” taken from his debut album “Get Lifted” went up fast in charts everywhere and still loved by many people as their favorite songs until today. The debut album was sold 116 copies in its first week, later it reached a certified Platinum as it was sold 2.1 million copies in the US alone. The next album, “Once Again” was released 2 years later in 2006, and again went very successful in the market. The single “Save Room” also went very popular among the fans. His smooth and deep soulful voice is outstanding and could easily be recognized when you hear him sing. Besides establishing his career in music as a vocalist and pianist, Legend was starred in a movie, “Soul-Men” in 2008 together with Samuel L Jackson, the late Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac. Recently Legend is nomiated for another Grammy Award nomination in the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance category, for his recording of “This Time” on his latest album “Evolver.”
