Klab Jazz’ Frenzy Jazz Night and Sunday Jazz
How’s the life of Klab Jazz after the end of Jazz Break Revival period? Actually they are doing fine, in fact, it seems like they are even better than ever. If jazz presentation by Klab Jazz was centralized only in one venue before, now they are popping everywhere, spreading and sharing jazz in many places around Bandung.
Two events are coming this weekend in two different places. If you feel thirsty for jazz this weekend, you can quench it not only once, but twice. Let’s see them one by one.
Klab Jazz and Neo Calista present 4 jazz bands in an event named “Frenzy Jazz Night.” Neo Calista, located at the famous spot of Dago Pakar in Bandung has been known as a cozy place with live music concept. Some people refer this cafe as a romantic cafe especially with the beautiful view of Bandung that you can enjoy from it.
this Friday the cafe will be painted in jazz. 4 high quality bands are in charge, ready to bring the best of jazz with their skills. Bo Jazz (STIMB), the skillful and fast-raising trio G/E/T, Iman Brata Trio and the band from UPI (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia) Bandung. Vassagie . It’s a chance for you to enjoy a romantic night with your loved ones, family and friends and be entertained with jazz at the same time.
SUNDAY JAZZ
Sunday Jazz is the new concept from Klab Jazz to keep on going in its vision and mission. We have seen Sunday Jazz being held at Potluck Coffee Bar and Library for two months in a row, but now Klab Jazz wants to make it not only once a month, but four times a month at 4 different locations. For the first time, Sunday Jazz will appear at Ruang Putih, The Afternoon Cafe, for the first time on May 23, 2010.
Starting from now, jazz is scheduled to be served at Ruang Putih on the third week of the month. KlabJazz is still looking to find another location to bring jazz on the second and fourth weeks. But while we’re waiting for that, at least now we already have two cool locations to fill your Sunday with jazz every month . And that’s something we should cheer for.
For this first edition at Ruang Putih The Afternoon Cafe we will have three groups. David Manuhutu Trio, consists of the wonder kid David Manuhutu who’s still 17 with two senior musicians from Bandung, Rudy Zulkarnaen and Arifandi Renaldi. Besides David Manuhutu Trio, we will be entertained by THE STATEMENT, a band established back then in 2004 and now re-appeared with the new formation. The Statement which led by Andi Danial brings an ear-catchy style of fusion. And VASSAGIE will join again.This is a group that goes with the variety of styles. Considering they are still young, we can be sure to see this group as one of the our nation’s top jazz band in the future.
