Halaman Monthly Jazz at Cafe Halaman : August Independence Edition
As said before about another routine free monthly jazz event in Bandung, Cafe Halaman together with KlabJazz is presenting HALAMAN MONTHLY JAZZ again for August Edition. This time it’s going to be special. Every Indonesian celebrates the Independence Day on August, so this time the theme for Halaman Monthly Jazz is prepared to suit that occasion. Edisi Kemerdekaan, or Independence Edition will be held again as usual at the cozy cafe with delicious foods.
This event brings back some memories too. Before they decided to go regularly every month, actually Cafe Halaman has done some jazz events too, and those events came yearly on each August to celebrate Independence Day. This is the first time though to have this Independence Jazz edition in the brand new concept after this one became a monthly event.
This August edition is featuring four outstanding bands. Barry Likumahuwa, the young bassist from the new generation is going to be there. He is a talented young musician that grows really fast in popularity. What Barry offers is a cool soulful funk/groove rhythm packed in jazz, and that style seems to suit even the youngsters who are not into jazz. His debut album with the band Barry Likumahuwa Project titled “Goodspell” was a great success and placed him directly in the list of top musician in Indonesia today. As he’s preparing his second album, it’s going to be great to see his performance closely in a really friendly and cozy environment.
There will be the post-bopping Sonny Akbar Trio, the soulful groove Chalk For Cheese , the wild G/E/T and also Bandanaira listed as the performers for the August Independence Edition of Halaman Monthly Jazz. You can have them all while having the best of time with your friends and family, also by enjoying the delicious foods courtesy of Cafe Halaman.
