We still remember how happy they was 2 years ago when the mini album (EP) was launched. “After 5 years with blood, sweat and no tears, finally we’ve released our first EP.” said La Belle back then. Now here’s the news: after releasing their mini album Imagine@soul EP two years ago, La Belle is back [flickr id=”8732504664″ thumbnail=”small” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”left”] with their new album “Sketsamorfosa”. This album is long awaited by their friends and fans who have been supporting them for no less than 7 years.
Supporting by a lot of friends, La Belle creted a concept of ‘MusikPoetrikal’ (Music-Poetrical) and poured the vibe out to the stage. Abbag on bass, Donny on percussions, Ernan on vocal and guitar, and Puspith on vocal and shaker held the concert on April 26th, 2013 at Potluck Kitchen Cafe in Bandung.
Actually it was beyond the music, when the sundanese ethnic of dance met pop jazz style of music and narrative poetry, then what you got was a rich nuance in one package.

Speaking of the album, Donny, the percussionist of the band said, “Sketsamorfosa is about our musical journey since 2006. We have been through a maturity process as a team.” The album contains twelve tunes, those are six new songs, four songs from their mini album Imagine@soul EP, and two recomposition bonus tracks.
[flickr id=”8731383451″ thumbnail=”small” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”left”] The manager of La Belle, Lovi Christy said, “Playing music should be without restriction. Whatever the genre is, every song can be made with freedom and full of creativity. Well, honesty is the most important thing in any kind of art-work to show the feelings out. And La Belle will always keep going on to improve their musical skill.” Well said by the manager.
[flickr id=”8732504946″ thumbnail=”small” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”right”] The concert started with a narrative story presented by Sarita, the vocalist of Teman Sebangku. Then Melita Utami came out performing a combination of Sundanese ethnic and contemporare dance. The story and dance talked about the life journey of La Belle, they described La Belle as a kid who grew up and became an adult.
La Belle took over the stage featuring a suling and kecapi player, Iman Jimbot on “Lagu Rindu” with a touch of Sundanese traditional ambience. They carried totally ten songs, including “Aura”, “Bukan Cinta”, “Berharap Dalam Mimpi”, “Sitting On The Green (recomposition)”, “Katakanlah”, “Sekejap”, “Mengerti (recomposition)”, “Leave It All Behind” and “Ku Ingin Cinta”.

[flickr id=”8731384877″ thumbnail=”small” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”right”] The appearance of some musicians on stage enriched the taste of the show. Just to mention a few: Iman Jimbot: a bamboo flute and kecapi player, Doly: a guitarist of Teman Sebangku, Suhe from Bangalore, and Abank: a guitarist of Iman Brata Trio.
Overall the concert accentuated a mixture of soul and ethnic music, poetry, and dance. We could see a uniqueness of performing arts there. Hopefully, what they have done can inspire other musicians. Don’t give up on music and keep spreading good influence out there. Last but not least, we wish the best to La Belle’s full album. May Sketsamorfosa be a success both in selling and inspiring others.
