A sad news arrived yesterday about JakJazz Festival 2009. We regret to inform you that JakJazz Festival 2009 has been cancelled due to the sponsor withdrawal. It’s a sad news for everyone, not only for the organizers who have worked hard to keep it alive, but also for all the jazz fans who have been waiting to have this big annual jazz festival to come.

We don’t know the details yet at the moment. We don’t know what’s going to happen with the international artists who have already confirmed to participate for this year’s JakJazz, such as Lica Cecato, Janek Gwizdala Project, Jean My Truong Quartet, Dave Valentin, Roberto Ruggeri, Galaxy Big Band, Curtis King Blues Band, Lance Reegan Diehl and many more. But we understand that something like this; no matter how sad it is; could happen right at the most unexpected moment. We also know that Ireng Maulana, Rully Mangunsong and all the organizers has been trying very hard to keep the light on. It’s not easy for them, it’s not easy for us, but we have to face the fact. We feel great sympathy to the organizers on the cancellation of JakJazz Festival 2009 . We hope this won’t stop your effort to fight for jazz development in Indonesia. There will be many more years to come, and we will wait to see the return of JakJazz in the big way. Once again, we express our deepest sympathy to everyone behind this event.

We will update the news if/when we get more info. Stay tune for more news here at jazzuality.com
