Yovie Widianto Fusion Band at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta
Yovie Widianto is an Indonesian senior musician who has long musical career with many achievements. Not only active as a musician, he also has bright career as a producer and song writer for many Indonesian singers such as Chrisye, Ruth Sahanaya, Glenn Fredly, Rio Febrian, Lingua, Rida Sita Dewi, Audy and many others.
Yovie is known as one of the founding member of “Kahitna“, positioning as keyboardist on the band. Yovie actually started with jazz when he was still a little kid. In 1987 Yovie joined his friends and formed “Indonesia 6″. Just like the early Kahitna, Indonesia 6 was a band that based themselves on smooth/light jazz fusion. Later Yovie turned to pop, especially with his later Yovie & Nuno band. Their latest album “The Special One” got a huge success, receiving Platinum Award for 150 copies sold just in two months.
Lately Yovie has been busy going back to jazz by forming Yovie Widianto Fusion Band (YWF Band). YWF Band had their first concert at Bentara Budaya Jakarta last June, and now they are going to perform again at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta.
