Just like what we all know, Black Cat is a jazz club which serves live jazz music performed by local artists and also international artists. On 28 January 2009, two Indonesian guitar virtuosos, Tohpati and Dewa Budjana showed what they got at Black Cat, that located at Arcadia, Plaza Senayan region. Before they played, there was a great skilled band performed consisted of Idang Rasjidi and Kemala Ayu. When the time reached 11 PM, Kemala Ayu welcomed Tohpati and Dewa Budjana to come on stage.

On stage, Dewa Budjana said that it was the first time for them to appear by two with just guitars, without any other additional instruments.  Some great songs from both their albums were delivered perfectly, such as Guitar Midnight, Romantic, Lukisan Pagi, Layang-Layang and also Mahabarata. Idang Rasjidi then gave them appreciation plaques. Right after that, Budjana said they would give two more songs. Those songs were Chrisye’s “Kesan Di Matamu” and one more song from Sheila On 7.  In this last song, the audience got carried away and sang together.

Overall, they both delivered a two thumbs up world class performance. I do think that the songs they brought on stage were perfect for Black Cat, with cozy and chill out environment. It was really enjoyable to watch the performance of two best guitarists of Indonesia in a cozy relaxing place.
