Sketsa feat. Tohpati at PL Fair 2009 “Fire Fighters”
This Saturday, November 21, 2009 will be a day to remember by Sketsa, the dynamic duo consists of Gerald Situmorang and Dimas Wibisana. Why? Because they will perform together on one stage in one session with their idol, Tohpati Ario Hutomo, or simply known as Tohpati. It’s going to be a wonderful collaboration for sure, and that will happen at Pangudi Luhur (PL) Fair “Fire Fighters”.
Together with many famous groups/artists, both senior and independents such as God Bless, Jamie Aditya, Mocca, Endah n Rhesa, Gugun Blues Shelter and many more, the stunning guitar duo Sketsa featuring Tohpati will represent the beautiful world of jazz. They will bring some original compositions by Sketsa and Tohpati. Some of Tohpati songs such as “Takbir” will be re-arranged especially in the trio guitar format. “Horse Race”, the song that will be included in the upcoming album will also be brought together with Tohpati.

“It’s a pleasure to see and collaboate with young musicians that play like Sketsa”, said Tohpati in the middle of their rehearsal. “I’m proud to collaborate with Tohpati”, said Gerald Situmorang and Dimas Wibisana. “Especially since Tohpati has been our idol from the beginning”, they added.
Well, it’s set. Both parties have described how wonderful it is to play together, so the result will surely be stunning. If you came to Road to the 32nd JGTC in ITB, Bandung yesterday (November 18,2009), you will know that Sketsa is seriously doing their thing, taking the spot that rarely noticed by many other musicians today. Their music style is different, combining mixture of jazz, bossanova, pop and ethnics, serves in harmony to create enjoyable sounds. This is the kind of music that won’t be difficult to reach any segments, and I personally believe they have a promising future if they keep on doing it consistantly.
Sketsa likes to appear in duo formation, sometimes with an additional guest star, but they are not against full band formation either. In this Pangudi Luhur IPL Fair 2009 they will get more additional musicians beside Tohpati. There will be Adrian Mahendra (electric bass), Hertri Nur Pamungkas (drums) and Aldhan Prasatya (synthesizer and keyboards) to support the trio formation.
