ESQI:EF Syaharani & Queenfireworks : “ANYTIME” Launching Concert
Syaharani is a magnet. That would be my answer if you ask me to describe her in one word. She has a very high likeability factor. Not only she’s an excellent performer, the modern jazz icon of Indonesia, but she’s also know how to build a personal relationship with all of her fans everywhere around the world. She has a very solid community-based fans who will support her in whatever she does. And for us that’s remarkable, since we know how busy she is with tons of activities every day.
She’s progressive, she never stops learning. She started her career as a singer. With her charming sultry voice she emerged fast as the top singer. While some people feel it’s enough to pursue their career on this, Syaharani felt she needed to know more things about the whole process. Her musicality keeps on growing as well. She never wants to stop in one area, getting stuck in one particular box. She really has to accomodate millions of ideas streaming out from her brain, and because of that we see something new from her all the time. In our interview with Syaharani about two years ago, she explained her view about this. “There are many things we have to work on behind the curtain besides having a performance or entertaining people. We design sound, there are thousands of different sound could appear from one instrument.” she said. Luckily she found a perfect partner in crime, Fareed “Didit” Saad, who apparently shared the same passion with her. She found her happiness in it. “We are happy because we have new lessons and toys. While usually female singers would just sing and perform, caring about their look and that’s it.. but for me it’s better to hang out with Didit than going out to saloon.” she laughed. With the senior guitarist Donny Suhendra on their sides, they came out with the creation of a very cool group carrying the philosophy of life called ESQI:EF : Syaharani and Queenfireworks.
ESQI:EF is the brainchild of this creative team. They came from different backgrounds, but united by the same point of view: “music to share.” They can give just about anything in crossover. You name it. Light Jazzy, Power Pop, Acoustic, Ambience even Lounge Dance, while some other genres such as bluesy rock and roll could come and go in between. No matter what they bring, these three “E” will always put as consideration: “Easy-listening, Entertaining and Everlasting”. If allowed, I’d add one more “E” to it, “Ear-catchy.”
The last time they released an album was back in 2006. “Buat Kamu”, that’s the title of ESQI:EF’s debut album which is still dearly loved by their fans until today. It’s a rainbow-like album, where you can chill, relax to even dance. It’s been a long time, but now you don’t have to wait any longer. The new album of ESQI:EF: ANYTIME will be out no longer than this month, this May 2010! Series of preparation has been made, including a special album launching with a concert that will be held on May 26, 2010 at Blacksteer Auto Lounge fX lifestyle X’nter 1st floor.
