The 32nd JGTC : The Stunning Tokyo Blue, Yovie Fusion Band and ESQIEF Syaharani and the Queenfireworks
Tokyo Blue the Japanese band led by Hiroaki Maekawa continued roaring the Stage A. Some seriously cool Japanese style fusion in the tradition of Casiopea attractively entertained the audience. It was absolutely entertaining.
The fusion continued with Yovie Widianto Fusion Band (YWF). Again, stage A delivered the world of fusion in the great way. Fast, innovative, full of energy and improvisation stunned the audience. They all burned the stage compeletely with the original compositions including “Magical Journey”, “6/8″, the closing song “Pinnochio” and also a cool version of “Night in Tunisia”. Adi Dharmawan was amazing with his ferocious jazz approach and also some ethnical tunes through his voice. Huge applause appeared everytime they finished each songs. Yovie said that he actually liked jazz more than pop, something that he actually started his career with in the 80’s. Still, he admitted that he respected one pop singer, the late legendary Chrisye. And to gave a tribute to Chrisye, they brought one famous song of Chrisye, “Untukku” re-arranged nicely in smooth fusion jazz. We are really happy to see Yovie back to his root, jazz, something that he always passion to be in.
Syaharani and the Queenfireworks a.k.a ESQIEF closed everything happening on Stage A. And it was a perfect ending with the nice blends of ESQIEF style. They brought their hits from the previous album such as “Kemareen”, “Bermain Api” and more, also their new single for the upcoming new album “Anytime”. It was cool, sensational and fun! And that wraps the report from stage A. There will be more report from stage C soon, so stay tune.
