The 32nd JGTC : Jazz and Rain
The rain still goes on. Not very hard, but it’s enough to make us wet. Soulvibe wearing batik grooved the Stage A, while Steve Wilson, Oele Pattiselano and Kristian Dharma teamed up with Nita Aartsen on stage C. The audiences filled up all stage, some of them stood nicely with umbrella. It was fun to see the enthusiastic audience that still got entertained to the max even under the pouring rain.
From the press conference room we got some statements from Soulvibe. This is their second time performing at JGTC following the last year’s event. “It was quite an experience for us” they said, “it was funny to see the energetic audience with umbrellas”. This time was also their first time to wear full traditional batik, respecting our own heritage that was just approved to be the world heritage by UNESCO. Also, this year’s JGTC became the first time they brought their own songs in one session. The arrangements were also suited into more jazzy to respect the event.
Andre Hehanussa continued what Soulvibe left on Stage A. Together with 20:20 Star they graced the stage with some of famous original Andre’s songs such as the classic “Bidadari”. It was fun to have the songs arranged in groovy funky style. The crowds enjoyed it so much.
At the Stage C appeared Jakarta Broadway Team. They brought something difference with the theatrical style, just like how it goes on Broadway stages. It was fun!!
Again on the press conference Andre Hehanussa says that he is making a new project, Black Music Indie. He is going to release on January, the latest. He is still recruiting talents from all over Indonesia. Andre Hehanussa stated that he felt comfortable to play with youngsters. It’s a reminder to him that youngsters are not into any particular genres nowadays. There are many skillful youngsters in every music division, so that will enrich him even more.
