Java Jazz Festival 2012: Java Jazz On The Move Complete Schedule

In less than 2 months from now we are going to meet the biggest jazz show on earth being held on our soil once again. Yes, it’s the eighth installment of Java Jazz Festival, with the new main sponsor in the house, it’s now officially called Jakarta International Djarum Super Mild Java Jazz Festival 2012. In the first press conference held a month ago as we reported (check it here), the founder Peter Gontha promised this one to be the biggest in 8 years. Looking at the lineup this promise is most likely going to come true. If before we already got bags of shocking surprises by the participation of some jazz’ greatest legends such as Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Al Jarreau and George Duke, the soulful ladies Erykah Badu, Laura Fygi, sparkling female percussionist Shelia E, very popular saxophonist Dave Koz and David Sanborn, Mr ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ Bobby McFerrin among other amazing artists both international and from our own resource, last week Peter Gontha just shocked us even more by announcing the confirmation of STEVIE WONDER for this year. Surely it’s going to be a special show, with the predicted price range from IDR 350.000 up to 7.5 millions. The ticket is now available, so make sure you grab it ASAP before it goes up higher and higher. (Keep on checking the Java Jazz Festival’s online ticketing: or our online store: for that).

Just like the previous editions, prior to the main event the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival starts the fire by making up series of pre-event known as JJOTM a.k.a Java Jazz on the Move. These are the shows that are going to raise the hype by presenting some of the popular Indonesian and International artists (the international artists usually perform near the D-day). For this intention, the Java Festival Production always makes each JJOTM accessible by holding them at the easy to reach hang out venues such as malls, clubs and even campuses in Jakarta and the nearby cities like Bandung, all free of charge. There you can also expect free tickets by responding to the quizzes or getting easier access to buy the ticket via Mobile Ticket Box. (Check the schedule here: Cheaper price for students is also available in this ticket box.

And here it is, the complete JJOTM schedule for 2012 is out! You can find out your favorite ones or the nearest venue to your home and jump on in right away.
