Matt Bianco Press Conference at Java Jazz Festival 2009
From the press conference of Matt Bianco, we got several news about them. Duo Mark Reilly and Mark Fisher entered the conference room with smile and warmly greeted everyone. They were ready to answer the questions from several reporters that gathered in the press conference.

The first question came from me, Andy of jazzuality.com. I asked them about their concept, that has been consistently influenced by latin music. I told them that for me, personally, their songs are best heard while we are having fun on the beach. They said that’s what they really want. Making the music as an escape from daily routines. They got influenced by many latin great, like Santana for example, and they infused the latin into their music, a style that not familiar in England at that time. They got success with the concept, as what we always know of Matt Bianco’s music.

About the last year’s failure to attemp, Mark Fisher said that they just had some sort of problems. The failure was really difficult for them. But then again, this year they finally made their appearance in Indonesia. And Mark Fisher said it was great for them to see the audience last night.
Matt Bianco actually came to Indonesia once in 1995, touring to Surabaya, Jakarta and Bali. They had good times and still remember their moment in Indonesia before. They always enjoy visiting different places in the world, so they really enjoy playing here in Java Jazz Festival 2009 in Indonesia.
When a question asked, what will Matt Bianco looks like in 5 years from now, Mark Reilly said that actually he didn’t know how it will be, but for sure they always try to enjoy their music, as how they have been doing through their 25 years career. “it’s been 25 years now, and it’s quite an achievement” he said.
Mark Reilly added that they are doing the new album, which will be released this summer. The album title is “HiFi Bossanova”. The fans would surely love this, including me.

Two performances, two great nights, two unforgettable moment for the fans. They surely have long time fans from the 80’s and still loving them until now. It’s been great to have Matt Bianco, finally at Java Jazz Festival 2009. Hopefully this won’t be the last.
